The Story

Help us raise £30,000 to plant 5,000 trees in Dorset by September 2026!

We’ve partnered with Forestry England to support the restoration of an ancient woodland site at Queen’s Copse in Wimborne, Dorset - just 25 miles from the Museum.

With your support, this project will help return the woodland to its original character and ecological value, creating a resilient, biodiverse habitat that captures carbon, supports wildlife, and remains open for people to enjoy for generations to come.

Each £6 donation, will contribute towards the cost of planting a tree, which includes:

  1. The sapling
  1. The wooden stake, tree guard and any deer fencing required to stop the young trees being destroyed
  1. Up to 10 years of active management to ensure the tree is established and free of pests and diseases (ensuring that the tree is a genuinely long-term investment)

We don’t charge for parking at the museum and planting a tree costs less than an all-day space at a beachside car park but will create a legacy that lasts a lifetime.

When you donate you’ll receive a confirmation email acknowledging your contribution to this important restoration project.

We’ll keep you updated on our progress towards the £30,000 target, and you can check here at any time to see how we’re getting on. [Here]
