The Story
The Sd.Kfz. 222 is one of the most recognizable German vehicles from World War II, an important element of the Wehrmacht's reconnaissance forces. Thanks to its light armor and high mobility, the Sd.Kfz. 222 was mainly used for reconnaissance, patrolling and infantry support on various war fronts. Lightweight, solid construction
The Sd.Kfz. 222 vehicle was equipped with a rotating turret with a 20 mm gun, which gave it a significant advantage in combat. The front and sides of the vehicles were protected by 8 mm thick steel sheets: thinner, 5 mm of sheet metal protected the top, rear and chassis. The turret was not armored from above, the crew was protected from this side only by a protective net against grenades and light shrapnel.
With a maximum speed of 80 km/h and four-wheel drive, this vehicle was excellent for off-road maneuvers. Although its armor was modest, it provided basic protection for the crew.
Mainly used by reconnaissance units, the Sd.Kfz. 222 played a key role in German operations on various fronts of World War II.
Historical precision: The model faithfully reproduces the appearance of the Sd.Kfz. 222 vehicle, which allows you to create realistic scenes from the times of World War II.
Figure included: The set includes a figure of a German lieutenant with binoculars, which increases the possibility of interactive play and using the model in dioramas.
The opening turret allows you to place the figure in the vehicle, which allows for even more realistic use of the model. Thanks to the rubber, rotating wheels, the model works great both as a moving toy and as a realistic element of a diorama.
Building the vehicle from 502 elements is a great opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of the construction and the history of the Sd.Kfz. 222. Scale 1:28: Thanks to its dimensions, the model is ideal for both younger and older enthusiasts of history and building with blocks. It is also a great complement to other models from the WWII series in the same scale.
